Printworks Mill, pre-restore (abundantly profane)

Preservation Greensboro's Urban Archaeology Tour:

we were able to snag spots on the hottest tour of the autumn.
this abandoned mill has received National Historic Registration
& will be renovated to include primarily housing
starting in early 2018.
plan is for access/connection
to the newly-renovated Revolution Mill (to the west)
via existing rail line path.

in late 1800s, this site was location of carpet factory,
then was purchased by the Cone brothers
& expanded as part of Cone textile empire.
Print Works added print to the textiles produced
at the neighboring cotton mills
(Revolution & White Oak)

i hear the next tour is full with a waiting list ~
hope they offer more!
they plan on trying to preserve some of the art,
but what a treat to see it before.
