leaves, trees, & these

Thanksgiving 2018
alternate years, we gather
& recently, our address has hosted
(now that sons are flung & rare to return)

the sunshine, leaves, & walk number one
(after the bird was in the oven)
the lure of the next holiday (with remnants of a vine-y summer)
autumn leaves turned late this year
& were exquisite

back to the house:
cooking (some of us)

& waiting on the grandparents
