Part 7: The HighLine, The Vessel, The NightLights

Mom and I walked the entire Highline, south to north

 cars, cars, cars

Highline Selfie

& then i saw THIS!
the Zaha Hadid Building = stars in my eyes
Zaha Hadid is no longer alive
her work is AMAZING

don't you agree?

eventually, i had to keep walking

the Vessel,
which i had heard of & seen photos of
from other friends
but which was not my destination
however, at the end of the Highline,
there it was

floor-to-ceiling

ants

since we had walked so far already,
we just kept on
refueling with more new york cheesecake

Part 6: the Lower East Side, the Bowery, & more

my godmother headed back to Nyack,
and we headed to the Lower East Side!

destination : tenement museum!

we stumbled upon the annual Pickle Festival!

popped in a couple tiny art galleries
& liked what we saw here
much better than the one i didn't
take pictures of :)

meanwhile, outside...

dancing in the streets

heading into the Bowery towards the L-train

happened upon a great little restaurant on another street corner,
RinTinTin

which led to...
i hardly could contain myself
twin octopuses conjoined at birth

& again, at Chelsea Market
where i bought a souvenir

a well-scented religious celebration

also seen in Chelsea Market:
my father's paternal grandfather worked for National Biscuit Company in the early 1900's
