a visit to my parents' is not complete without a stroll through my old neighborhood. i love to see houses that have been rejuvenated since my last visit ~ as well as watch new ones fill in the few available lots.

we happened to time our visit with the night a long-time family friend had her annual carol-sing. sincere choristers, exuberant instrumentalists, and dessert-before-dinner was a winning combination!
