a little raleigh christmas

a visit to my parents' is not complete without a stroll through my old neighborhood.  i love to see houses that have been rejuvenated since my last visit ~ as well as watch new ones fill in the few available lots.

most recent contemporary addition to the neighborhood
a more classic Cameron Park house

the balmy weather has flowers all confused

but the moss is enjoying the rain!
the cobblestones that lead back home

jiggedy-jig!
some people have a Christmas chair;
my mother has a Christmas sink.
twinkle-twinkle
we happened to time our visit with the night a long-time family friend had her annual carol-sing.  sincere choristers, exuberant instrumentalists, and dessert-before-dinner was a winning combination!

the carolers
then we returned to Mom & Dad's
for a beautiful & delicious dinner-after-dessert.

while Joseph plays a somewhat speedy rendition
of Charlie Brown's Xmas tune

it's not a visit to Raleigh without Game Night!
 such a short visit!
we'll come back soon :)

Merry Eve of Christmas Eve!
