we are family

family traits
and resemblances
 old Davis family photo album,
waiting for me to get a better bookshelf!
 up in Massachusetts, late 1800's
i see myself at the same age,
for sure...
hairline, gaze, mouth, chin.
yep. looks like a relative of mine.

we gathered with my cousin & her family
to share Shabbat
(yep, some of us are Jewish)
and talk about our ancestor, Charles Pancoast,
author of A Quaker Forty-Niner,
(yep, some of us were & are Quaker)
and the great uncle-in-law of said Charlotte Davis
(she married his great nephew, William Hannum)
the wax of many Shabbats

my cousin Beth, me, & my cousin Anne

my Aunt Sue & mom

Aunt Sue & meeee!

a resemblance, no? my Dad & his sister Sue, with two of her daughters behind

cozy on the outdoor porch during a rainstorm in January on a day it reached 67 degrees!

a tea-drinking kind of night
