the autumn is getting away from me,
so my words will be few....
a stellar trip to NYC
with my mom
to celebrate my

50th birthday
i was born in a Hudson River town
but moved away before significant memories
could really take hold -
though this all feels right:
the water & fog
the boats lifted on the current
the other shore
my mother's close childhood friend
lives on this water
