cooking . . .
um.
so, i come from a long line of reluctant chefs.
but it is Thanksgiving, so i've pulled out
my mother-in-law's classics
& recruited her son
(my husband)
to take on a couple of them.
you can accomplish great things
while watching the Macy's Parade!
like plotting a lengthy escape
from the kitchen.
a little bit of a disjointed start
(eldest wanted to run the trail; youngest zoomed ahead, dribbling his soccer ball, and missed the turn-off; husband waited at the fork for him to return; i set off alone....and we all reunited eventually)
made for an odd family hike
that was a bit more of an individual adventure.

like i said, we did end up together, eventually!
| Joseph & me |
there were a fair number of creeks,
some more fast-running than others.
like this one!
we finally caught up with Samuel!
(actually, not really. he ran the entire trail, then doubled back to us.)

& the cooking turned out okay, too.
Happy Thanksgiving from our oven to yours!
