a frasier fir, purchased from the lot over beside Whole Foods. no one wanted to go pick it out with me - and it turned out i was okay with that. i suggested that the boys and i go find a tree one afternoon, squeezed in between the end of the school day and the early winter night. but both shrugged and said "nah," so i went alone. quick decisions when one is alone: nope, nope, nope, yep. &, lickety-split, i was home with a tree.

for the first year ever, i have yet to put a single ornament on the tree. i did put the candy canes on (because i'm a
little particular about spacing), but i've left the rest of the decorating to others. and it turns out i'm okay with that, too.

i think i wrote last year about doing a blog post of all my angel ornaments. but none of them made it onto the tree this year. and, you know what? i'm quite okay with that.
