& this was one of them.

we went through one of our State senators,
so we had an extensive tour
guided by a water-swigging
summer intern.

we knew the magic password*
& were escorted via secret tunnel
to the underground cafeteria
frequented by lobbyists and interns
(*"where's a good place for lunch?")

afterwards, we took another tunnel
to the Library of Congress -
stunning! impressive! beautiful!
library of congress
[although a degree of disappointment
from one of our crew that only
a select few (researchers & the sort)
were permitted to enter the actual Library]

after settling in for an Impractical Jokers marathon
(certainly not for the faint at heart),
the senior pair on the tour
picked up dinner at a strip mall
near our hotel,
stumbling upon some most-excellent
Vietnamese cuisine.
