this past weekend,
my nephew Ben married
the most delightful
Firecracker -
Cassidy
~ ~ ~
the wedding (of which i took
no photos)
was beautiful, in the sanctuary
of Warrenton (Virginia) Baptist Church,
with split pews and a double-door entrance
~ ~ ~
Ben was in tuxedo tails,
his three brothers beside him
~ ~ ~
Cassidy's dress was meringue-worthy,
& i spied Union Jack stilettos, too
(rule Brittania!)
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
after the ceremony, we guests
caravanned north
to the lovely reception
(under a tent in a field
at Cassidy's parents' home)
~ ~ ~
the movie theme continued
(all music in the ceremony, i'm told,
was from favorite movies)
& each guest selected a movie
to carry home from the wedding
...
we let S & J choose;
they chose wisely!

and with joy and grace
throughout the reception
