so, we kept heading north,
with the general destination of the
NY Public Library...
popped into this Italian pastry shop
& snagged a Christmas cookie
(and received an eye roll for just asking for one...
she didn't bother to charge me...)
such magnificent
& varied architecture!
beautiful leaf motifs on this one!
the Chrysler Building
amazing pressed metal designs on this one!
& another crowded COVID testing site,
this time with news crew in tow...
we were chased out of the Chrysler Building
& not permitted to take pictures inside the Chanin Building...
we enjoyed popping in Grand Central
look UP!
&, then, the New York Public Library!
look UP!
"A good Booke
is the precious lifeblood of a
master spirit, imbalm'd and treasur'd
up on purpose to a life beyond life."
we had decided on tickets to an off-Broadway show
called Kimberly Akimbo
& made our way that direction
(in Chelsea) to eat dinner
(outside! brrrrr!)
& pop in quickly to the FIT museums.
here is some fashion for you to chew on...
there was, also, a small exhibit
of art & reflections from FIT students
trying to continue their education & creative pursuits
during the pandemic
it really hit home,
with our own two college kids
also impacted by navigating their early 20's
& college years through this pandemic.
this is a generation of young people
who will truly be shaped by this experience
in ways those of us further along in life are likely not....
one other small show in a nearby building...
meanwhile, outside...
& then...to the Theatre!!!
our seats were in the opposite of the
nosebleed section!
it was more the
look-up-your-nose section...
