snowcrunch 01.22.22

we've had a week of winter weather!
first, it was snow-sleet-ice
(with emphasis on the first two, luckily)
that turned my first week back after winter break
into a return to remote work
(ugh.ugh.ugh)
then, last night, we got another couple inches
of gorgeous, dry snowfall!

we had tickets to (finally!!!)
Porgy & Bess at the Tanger Center
in downtown Greensboro
(purchased in January 2019 - oh my!
for an original performance date of November 2020 - oh my!)
and discovered quite a snowfall occurring at intermission.

our walk to the car & our drive home
were cold, slow, and quiet...
a row of creeping cars following each other
out of downtown.

today, we walked to the grocery store
(BACON)
by way of the Bicentennial & Bog Gardens
xoxox

not sure if this is the same heron,
but i took a similar photo about four years ago

little sparrow puffed up for insulation!

walking in the dry snow
(on top of the ice from earlier in the week)
was so noisy!

this group of four young boys
was having a blast exploring the winter pond
from a spit of land that must connect
to the shoreline.
they might not be, but
i'm really hoping we have in-person school
on Monday!!!
